We offer a range of high quality mounting booms designed for fast and precise installation of meteorological sensors at any height on a variety of tower types, including both tubular and lattice towers.
Every boom kit consists of three main components:
• Mounting hardware to secure the boom to either a tubular or lattice tower
• A robust boom arm
• A boom extension to mount your sensor of choice
There are four main categories of NRG mounting hardware:
Tubular Booms mount anemometers and wind vanes on tubular towers. Our tubular booms come in a number of lengths, covering a wide range of measurement applications. Boom extensions are available to mount any NRG anemometer or NRG wind vane, as well as the WindSensor P2546-OPR Anemometer or Thies First Class Advanced Anemometer. The 2.4 m (95”) option is the standard boom used in our NOW Systems for WRA, and the 1.53 m (60.5”) boom is used to mount anemometers and wind vanes on our SRA System.
Lattice Booms mount anemometers and wind vanes on lattice towers. Boom extensions are available to mount any NRG anemometer or NRG wind vane, as well as the WindSensor P2546-OPR or Thies First Class Advanced Anemometers. Lattice booms are available in 95” and 113” lengths and are compatible with lattice tower face widths of 18-24 ”.
Pyranometer Booms mount solar irradiance sensors on NRG TallTowers, including the 2.2m Tower used in our SRA System.
Additional Mounting Hardware includes Boom Extensions, Hose Clamps, and U-Bolts. These items are included in the boom kits wherever they are needed, and they can also be purchased separately.
